Saving Videos from the net on your Computer

Seen a video from Google, Youtube, or Putfile and want to keep it? Keepvid allows you to input the URL and website of the video and will give you 3 different downloads; AVI, MP4, and .FLV. You only need to download .flv's if you're downloading from youtube. Then must convert it to something like AVI or MP4. Kind of a hassle, I try to find all my stuff on Google for that reason. That's basically it....Have fun!The site is http://www.keepvid.com.

Problems:About half the time you try to download from Google and input the URL of the video, you will get a message something like this from keepvid 'Error: Could not connect to URL (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6204553738583022693&q=Carlos Mencia)'Here is the answer to that problem. In the URL it will say 'docid=62843955450204&q=Carlos+Mencia'What you need to do is delete the search terms (carlos+mencia), so you end up with this: "docid=62843955450204&q'

The Google Story - Book Review

The Google Story" by David Vise is not a book on biography of Google. It covers a wide range of facts on Search Economy, using Google as a medium. The book high lights the formation of Google by two "crazy" students, the eventual incidents that turns Google into a Business platform concatenated with the personal experiences of Sergey Brin and Larry Page. It does cover some personal moments of the Founders which each and evry one can relate to. The highlights of the book are the intellectual fertile association of Larry and Sergey, the confrontations between Eric Schmidt and Founders, details on Danny Sullivan Show, the China syndrome, even the chief chef of google Charlie Ayers, the designing of business model for google, the AOL Deal, the IPO Process, the genome explorer Project with Craig, the competition between Google and Microsoft. The Book explains how Google became a Phenomena and how the people followed it, which created a trend in Search Business. The explanations focus more on Human Side of Google covering all the small details and not only the academic one. On the other hand I felt there were some explanations of Google Products which was almost like a marketting banner. But still they were enjoyable for a Read. Like Froogle, Picaso, Google News etc. And ya Dont miss the Search tips given at the end of the book as well as some questions from GLAT (Google Labs Aptitude test).Rating 3.5/5

The marriage of top Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai is certain to take place in February 2007, according to Bachchan family astrologer Chandrashekhara Swamiji.

He has revealed this news to highly circulated Kannada newspaper Vijayakarnataka.

Swamiji, who lives in his ashram in Bangalore's RT Nagar, is astrologer to many film personalities including Dr Raj Kumar's family and producer Rockline Venkatesh. According to sources, Aishwarya and Abhishek visited the Swami several times during the Karnataka schedule of their film Guru, directed by Mani Ratnam.

The film was shot in Hospet and several places in Northern Karnataka, and the couple visited the Swamiji to consult him on many matters, including a probable marriage date. The Swami is believed to have scrutinised the celestial birthday Jathakas of the couple before giving them his advice.

Chandrashekhara Swamiji has been in regular contact with the Bachchans. He has reportedly also conducted havans and poojas for the family's well being. Apparently, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan also visited the ashram a year ago.

Swamiji has revealed that Aishwarya will probably make an announcement of her marriage on November 1, her birthday. According to the report, Aishwarya (born in Dhanu Rashi) and Abhishek (born in Kumbha Rashi) could have had some problems. The marriage was likely to face roadblocks in 2006, the astrologer had felt.

But, from October 27, when the planetary positions change, both Ash and Abhi will have the support of Jupiter (Guru-bruhaspathi).

The Swami, who has closely studied Ash's Jathaka, feels that the number eight is not compatible for her and marriage in 2006 -- which adds up to 8 -- would have led to trouble for the couple. 'That is why I advised them to marry in 2007,' he explains, 'which adds up to 9, a lucky number for both Aishwarya and Abhishek.'

10 commandments

1. Never walk without a document in your hands: People with documents in their hands look like hardworking employees heading for important meetings. People with nothing in their hands look like they’re heading for the cafeteria. People with a newspaper in their hand look like they’re heading for the toilet. Above all, make sure you carry loads of stuff home with you at night, thus generating the false impression that you work longer hours than you do;
2. Use computers to look busy: Any time you use a computer, it looks like “work” to the casual observer. You can send and receive personal e-mail, chat and generally have a blast without doing anything remotely related to work. These aren’t exactly the societal benefits that the proponents of the computer revolution would like to talk about but they’re not bad either. When you get caught by your boss - and you *will* get caught - your best defense is to claim you’re teaching yourself to use new software, thus saving valuable training dollars;
3. Messy desk:Top management can get away with a clean desk. For the rest of us, it looks like we’re not working hard enough. Build huge piles of documents around your workspace. To the observer, last year’s work looks the same as today’s work; it’s volume that counts. Pile them high and wide. If you know somebody is coming to your cubicle, bury the document you’ll need halfway down in an existing stack and rummage for it when he/she arrives;
4. Voice Mail: Never answer your phone if you have voice mail. People don’t call you just because they want to give you something for nothing - they call because they want YOU to do work for THEM. That’s no way to live. Screen all your calls through voice mail. If somebody leaves a voice mail message for you and it sounds like impending work, respond during lunch hour when you know they’re not there - it looks like you’re hardworking and conscientious even though you’re being a devious weasel;
5. Looking Impatient and Annoyed:According to George Costanza, one should also always try to look impatient and annoyed to give your bosses the impression that you are always busy.
6. Leave the office late: Always leave the office late, especially when the boss is still around. You could read magazines and storybooks that you always wanted to read but have no time until late before leaving. Make sure you walk past the boss’ room on your way out. Send important emails at unearthly hours (e.g. 9:35pm, 7:05am, etc.) and during public holidays;
7. Creative Sighing for Effect:Sigh loudly when there are many people around, giving the impression that you are under extreme pressure;
8. Stacking Strategy:It is not enough to pile lots of documents on the table. Put lots of books on the floor etc. (thick computer manuals are the best);
9. Build Vocabulary:Read up on some computer magazines and pick out all the jargon and new products. Use the phrases freely when in conversation with bosses. Remember: They don’t have to understand what you say, but you sure sound impressive.
10. MOST IMPORTANT: DON’T send this to your boss by mistake!!!

Morning reflects…

Picture - a reality which is not a fantasy.. Most of the time we live in a fantasy world .. of our own making where the troubles are our own creation and our lack of decision is our own weakness and yet we have this fantasy that we have it all till one day we get hit with the reality which makes us go back to our roots and shake our faith and change our course..

Focus - not on something which is far away… but what we have in hand today.. work on that and the rest will take care of itself. If we keep focussing on what we dont have and what we want to have desperately we kind of lose out on the present

Build - a better outlook towards yourself and outside.. bias can change the way you react thus making us very cylindrical in attitude.. thus losing out on spreading the joy that we can from oneself to all..

Forget - before you forgive … it cannot happen without the first.. sometimes one needs to look beyond why a personality is what it is and the moment you go past that bridge, it is easy to forget and then forgive..

Pause - for some seconds once in a while and just lift yourself up from the mechanical routine of your life and imagine you are in a wide fieldand running free feeling the wind in your face.. you will know the real meaning of freedom..

Listen - to the waves… of the sea… they tell you a lot… they sing and cajole you to let go of your inhibitions and play … play with the wind.. dance .. let go… let go of your worries… for a while… for it will always be there.. you can come back to it with a new perspective …. after you let go…

Love - unconditionally… it is only with unconditional love that you can let go of all the restrictions that you have put for yourself.. You are the most important being for yourself.. know yourself well… only then you will be compassionate towards others… it is the rule of nature.. do not take anything for granted..
